How to Properly Cleanse Your Face with AHA BHA Cleanser
Select an AHA BHA Cleanser suitable for your skin type. Look for gentle formulations with balanced acids to avoid excessive drying or irritation. If you have sensitive skin, opt for a lower concentration or a milder formula.
Start with a Clean Slate:
Before applying the AHA BHA Cleanser, wash your hands thoroughly to remove any dirt or bacteria. Use lukewarm water to wet your face, as hot water can strip away natural oils and cause irritation. Gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
Dispense the Cleanser:
Squeeze a small amount of the AHA BHA cleanser onto your fingertips. A dime-sized portion is typically enough for the entire face. Avoid using too much product, as it can lead to wastage and may be harsh on your skin.
Apply to Your Face:
Using your fingertips, gently massage the cleanser onto your damp skin in circular motions. Start from the center of your face and work your way outwards, focusing on areas prone to congestion or breakouts, such as the forehead, nose, and chin (T-zone). Be cautious around the delicate eye area and lips, as these areas are more sensitive.
Allow for Exfoliation Time:
After applying the cleanser, let it sit on your skin for about 30 seconds to a minute. This allows the AHA and BHA acids to penetrate the pores and dissolve dead skin cells, excess oil, and impurities. However, avoid leaving the cleanser on for too long, as prolonged exposure can lead to irritation.
Rinse Thoroughly:
Once the exfoliation time is up, rinse your face thoroughly with lukewarm water. Make sure to remove all traces of the cleanser, as any residue left behind can cause irritation or dryness. Use your hands or a soft washcloth to gently remove the product, avoiding harsh scrubbing motions.
Pat Dry and Follow with Moisturizer:
After cleansing, gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Avoid rubbing or pulling on the skin, as this can cause irritation. Immediately follow up with a hydrating moisturizer to replenish lost moisture and help soothe the skin. Look for a non-comedogenic formula that won’t clog pores.
